American Symphony is fantastic. I think I will watch it again. Adding Driveways to my watch list.

My friend just messaged me that she has a lot of flowers left over from a wedding. I am welcome to come over with a vase and make my very own arrangement. This feels very FTS!

“The pursuit of a meaningful life doesn’t need to be stuffy or precious.” I immediately chalked that onto my quote board in my kitchen.

American Symphony -- LOVED

can't wait to watch Driveways.... and the Celine Dion Docu.... and The Bear.... and Trying......

And... am finding beauty and breath in my flowers because I am finding myself enraged, yet again, by church stuff ----- everywhere!

Our summers couldn't get much more different, yours and mine. We are basically camping in the woodshop of the home we used to own while we work our tails off trying to finish building a camper so we can run off and be permanent (?) middle-aged nomads. Cooking is limited to a small chest refrigerator, a single burner, and an Instant Pot. Trying to watch something in bed to wind down after our 12-14 days, we last about 20 minutes before one of us drifts off, exhausted. BUT, we are pursuing a life-ling dream, so it's all good. Both of those movies you recommended look great. We will watch each one, stretched over multiple nights. Thank you for the hot tips!

Sherry, you might love Roaming Wild Rosie on YouTube. Start with the 2 part episode from 2 years ago about searching for a cottage in Sweden. It just might be your perfect wind-down watch (or you might hate it 😂).

Anatomy of a Fall is excellent if you haven’t seen it yet. I’d watch it again for it’s brilliant script and acting and directing. Society of the Snow has really stayed with me. It’s hard to watch but incredible storytelling and the cast was perfection. I was so revved up by the end that I also had to watch the “making of” doco before I could go to sleep. (Nerd alert.) I also really enjoyed The Holdovers. And last, I recently watched Mr Fantastic, which I think is a few years old by now, but it was a really satisfying film. I haven’t seen any good comedies lately but would love to. Please let me know if you think of any?

i will also confess that i watched it on the tail end of a very long flight/travel day so i may have become unhinged in general by that time, as opposed to just emotionally unhinged. listen, we can never know. 🤷🏼‍♀️ but it was good, i do know that.

I love all the film recommendations! I need to make a list! Just watched the first episode of The Bear. (Now I have to endure my husband saying “yes, chef” 24/7.) I grew up in a family where only certain emotions were allowed—I see you, German ancestors! In my late twenties I entered therapy and discovered whole rooms of unexpressed feelings. Then I had kids and they basically unraveled me. Thank goodness.❤️

Got through your opening with people's top five regrets, thought about those very briefly and then found myself in bed, head covered and wishing for something else to invade my thoughts.

Hours later I'm ready to read the rest of your offering. They are always good.

I recommended Driveways to you a few months ago. I knew you’d love it! I also recommended The Florida Project to you years ago and it took you like a year to finally watch it. I think you need to start taking my movie recs more seriously girl. 😂. Now I need to watch American Symphony since we obviously share the same taste in movies. 🫶

Shannon what size screen is that you’re watching? I don’t have a tv- does that screen seem to suit for movies?

I watched American Symphony on my laptop! We have a TV but apparently it's "tiny" (I don't know the size) bc Silas complains about it often. 😄

I need a good movie tonight. Will check out driveways! While trying to watch the trailer I hit this which is one of my all time favorite music pieces which featured in the Movie Empire of the Sun way back when. That movie broke me in a good way if you haven't seen it and this song!... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whKw72731L8

I just summer watched “Hell or High Water,” with Jeff Bridges talking exactly like his version of Rooster Cogburn in True Grit. The restaurant scene alone is worth the price of admission.

I watched and Loved Driveways and am in the middle of American Symphony--(that part when he dedicates a song to Suleika wowowow! These are just what the doctor ordered. somehow a movie is a little less stressful than taking on another great series if that makes sense. :) also plan to watch Holdovers.
