That pie is going on my pre list today!!! Here is my cinnamon coffee cake recipe if you want to try it:
1 yellow cake mix
1 small pkg vanilla instant pudding
1 c. water
3/4 c. Oil
4 eggs
6 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Mix first five ingredients and set aside. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Marble cake mixture with sugar mixture in 3 layers (pour a little batter, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar, more batter, more cinnamon-sugar, remaining batter) in a Bundt or tube pan. Bake at 325 for 45 minutes to an hour.
Holy Saturday can be especially hard as no one (I know) likes “the waiting place”. I too, imagine the women walking home traumatized and crying. Your friend said it so profoundly - to have to walk through...In an hour, I will walk into my dark church and together as the body of Christ we will light candles, each of us, from one flame. The entire church will become golden in the light of this fire and the beautiful faces that have come to wait in great expectation together. It’s a tradition that gets me through this night and many others, knowing his joy comes in the morning!
Last night I heard from satan (he doesn't get a capital s) loud and clear but today I'm preparing my heart for a tomorrow I can trust. And I'm still inviting my new friend from work who may or may not know Jesus to share a fried turkey and pasta salad with us. Take that, you, you... you don't even get a noun from me!
Last evening I attended a simple, quiet, beautiful remembrance of Jesus's crucifixion, and today we wait in hope for not only tomorrow, but for this world in it's present state.. We Wait.....
