“You can take my sanity but you’ll never take my freedom to read five books at the same time!” Same! And I always take the time to look up the books you recommend (and often buy them). In the absence of a church community over the last couple of years, books have been the strings that pull together community for me.

What would we do without books?! They've ruined my eyeballs but I'm not mad about it.

I now know two things:

I gotta get my priest this book so she can read it while she recovers from knee replacement surgery, AND

I need to acquire over-ripe bananas asap. Just reading the recipe is a counterweight.

I don't really think of myself as a banana bread person? But here I am, making it every few months, eating the whole pan.

I highly recommend pre-ordering this by Saturday - you'll get the audiobook FREE from Erin and the publisher, Baker, which is a perfect place to order. I have loved running errands today while listenning to Erin read her book! https://bakerpublishinggroup.com/books/i-ve-got-questions/419612

Ordered the book through bookshop.org since I have time…currently reading “I never thought of it that way” by Monica Guzman and I’m not typically a “read 5 at once” person but I am a teacher who has many books I’m reading at once at school so absolutely no judgement for any type of reading:) Any thoughts from anyone on “I never thought of it that way”? Also any advice from anyone on how to stay engaged in this heavy (and terrifying) political climate without carrying the weight of the world? I’m tempted to stop Fb, just get a little from Insta, and then read the NYT: The Morning each day but then I’m only getting info from really one source. 🤷‍♀️

I've read excellent things about that book! Are you finding it helpful?

I am, however, I tried to look her up on social media because she wrote this after 2016 and I want to see if she feels differently now…In 2016 I felt annoyed but also the “let’s just get these next 4 years over” and I wasn’t so frustrated with those I love who voted different…now I feel panicked and that this is never going to end and I’m angry at people who let this happen. I know the book is absolutely for me;)

The cookbook has been open to the after school banana bread for so long that upon closing, the spine would force itself back open to that very page. Do not skip the sugar on top - the only way my kid eats bananas 🍌

I scream laughed more than once reading this book. And “good for horses” is my new go to phrase when I need a laugh.

'Beloved, you have a strong faith because you wrestle.' I'm working on an epic biblical poem that is also a love letter to pro-wrestling at the moment, so I'm taking that encouragement and applying it right out of context. Yoink!
