Welcome to The Soup!

I’m Shannan Martin, a mom/wife/neighbor in Goshen, Indiana. I’m a voracious reader, a wannabe-gardener, a news-geek, a thrift store-stalker, a justice-fighter, and an aficionado of not-too-spicy salsa. I’m also an author (Falling Free and The Ministry of Ordinary Places) and a cook at a local non-profit dedicated to feeding our community. I fall asleep most nights thinking about breakfast.

Here for God on the Ground, my Advent series?

Just sign up for the $5/month option below! I'll email you ten short reflections beginning Dec. 16th that take us deeper into the heart of Jesus' arrival. You can easily cancel the subscription at the end of the month. (Better yet? Stick around!)

How does this work?

Once a month, I send out a free issue of The Soup. It’s usually on the topic of Jesus, food, or community. (Most likely, a combination of all three.)

For those who want seconds (and thirds!) you can subscribe now for $5/month (or discounted at $45/year.) Paid subscribers hear from me 2-3 times a month, with additional access via our secret Instagram account. We settle in on the ordinary - what we’re reading, thinking about, and eating; and how we’re caring for the people close to us (along with ourselves!) I come bearing recipes, favorite things, and behind-the-scenes. I also regularly share the snack I’m trying hardest to hide from my family.

Choose the free or paid option. Either way, you have to sign up!

PS - If you’d like to be a paid subscriber but the fee is a struggle (been there!) please let me know and I’ll add you to the list, no questions asked.
